We are artists, accountants, airline pilots, architects, teachers, students, families with children, and much more. But we all share one thing in common – A love of trains, and the enjoyment of building and running them, especially outdoors in our gardens. Founded in 1979, we are the oldest, and one of the largest regional garden railroad clubs in the nation.
Denver Garden Railroad Society includes all types of garden railroaders from people just starting to experienced hobbyists that enjoy sharing their hobby and enthusiasm.
We Invite anyone who shares a love of trains, or wants to learn more about them, to join our organization. See Membership or ask any of our members when you see them at one of our local events, or at the Colorado Railroad Museum.
The club owns and operates a large garden railroad layout at the Colorado Railroad Museum in Golden, CO. Qualified club members in good standing regularly run their trains and the layout may be visited by the public all year around at the museum. See Club Layout
Summer ushers in our favorite season and monthly weekends of garden tours. We invite members to see and share their layouts with other members. See Summer Tours
Denver Garden Railroad Society participates in many exhibits, and public showings throughout the year. See Shows & Exhibits
Club Meetings are held monthly and include educational and informative programs along with a social gathering. A monthly newsletter keeps members informed on events and club business.
National Garden Railway Conventions across the country each year draw thousands of garden railroaders, vendors, and visitors from around the world. Denver Garden Railway Society hosted the first national convention in 1984, and many times since then. See the
